Ania Wawrzkowicz's series of 'ambiguous documents'

What
Erasing content from a page

Why
Looking at the Pinterest board: Close and Distant Reading, I am interested that when we take out the content, or text, in a piece, the remaining elements communicate to us what it was before. Similar to my research during my in-country study in Japan, looking at how the Japanese rail network is an artifact that communicates the ideas and values of Japanese society when we take out the content, the material remains is a symptom of the purpose of the work. Thus, what makes a piece of documentation is more than just what is written, and I should also approach it with a more holistic view.

How
The contents on the page are removed from the document by physically cutting it out, rather than concealing it.
